
The show is updating the characters that Milne created in 1926. There will be a new kid taking Christopher Robin's place and the look of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Rabbit, Eeyore and gang will change as well. A Disney Channel spokeswoman told USA Today "We got raised eyebrows even in house at first, but the feeling was these timeless characters really needed a breath of fresh air that only the introduction of someone new could provide."
In England, author Milne's homeland, fans are outraged. They see it as a betrayal of Milne's stories.
It does seem rather sad to mess with such a classic children's story. I guess we will just have to wait and see what they make of it. Oh, Bother!
